Without a doubt, the single-most reason I’ve rediscovered quilting is the amazing amount of new fabric that continues to dazzle me. I fought it for years. Oh every so often I’d pick up a fat quarter here and there and put it in my fabric stash with absolutely no plans to do anything with it other than make my stash look prettier.
But then I began playing around with some of the prints and pretty soon I had cute baby gifts.
And even a picture frame.
Pretty soon, other things started creeping out of the pile.
But I must say, without question, I have very much fallen back in love with cutting up squares and fashioning them into fantastic quilty creations! I love how fabric designers can appeal to something within us that we may recall from years past. Such is the case with this latest line from Julia Rothman and Windham Fabrics.
I love vintage typewriters! I have absolutely no use for them on a practical level, but on fabric? Yes, please! And when you throw in some vintage typewriter keys and type, well I just have to have ‘em! I ordered a fat quarter stack and must say, I just admired it for quite some time. Then finally this morning, I got busy.
Which leads me to today’s dilemma. Should I bind this little 16″ beauty or make her into a pillow?
What would you do?

Depends. Do you have a place to hang it if you bind it? Do you have a place you will enjoy the pillow? I’ve made so many quilts which take so long – I’m enjoying making smaller things like pillows right now so I’m in love with your site.
I absolutely see a pillow made out of this. Along with several pillows with big initials (or typewriter keys featured). Keep us posted…..
I’m so impressed with your talent!
I would bind her. I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed your post. I also loved looking at your beautiful work. You almost have me liking those typewriters.
Your block has really inspired me…I have a fat quarter set of that same line. Very cute! I say Pillow! Pillow!
Love your stash, and love, love, love the baby outfits you made.
