As these things tend have their moment and trend through so quickly, I decided I had better get the pictures from the class I took in December up on the blog before we’ve moved on to cream puffs or the next dessert du jour.
They’re macarons! Not macaroons {coconut cookies} but genuine French Macarons ……… but of course.
I’m happy to report of the three groups preparing macarons in the class, ours were the only ones that turned out. You can see that the green batch has peaks. There should be no peaks.
Ours proudly stood up on their little “feet” and held the buttercream and chocolate ganache fillings perfectly.
They were easy to make and even easier to consume. Maybe one of these days I should whip up another batch?
Oui?

Wow those look GREAT! I have never baked these so I did not know they have a trick to them. Now I need to find some and taste them!!! Pictures are GREAT!
Yummy… any chance of getting the recipe?
I guess not.
Actually, there are hundreds of recipes out there that would work just fine. I think with these practice makes perfect. Try them!
Good Morning Ellen, Oh my, these macarons look delicious. I enjoy baking but have never tried these…..something to keep in mind for the future.
I always enjoy reading your blog, it is very inspirational.
Best Wishes
